Meet
Harry Douris Jr.
PADI Course Director

Harry’s experience in the Diving Industry is widespread. He began teaching SCUBA Diving in 1992, as an Independent Instructor in Phillipsburg, NJ. In 1993 while pursuing a career as a Police Officer, he entered the retail end of the Diving Industry as an owner of a PADI 5 Star Dive Center in New Jersey. Harry’s involvement with Instructor Development began in 1998 as an PADI IDC Staff Instructor. Over the next year, he had the opportunity to staff several Instructor Development Programs before becoming a PADI Course Director in 1999. One problem that became obvious to him, was the number of IDC Candidates entering the programs who did not fully understand the importance of Continuing Education. " The key to success as an Instructor is to promote and offer a variety of Continuing Education Programs." Harry’s main goal during the program is to instill this attitude in his candidates.
Candidates will find that Harry gives
extra attention to the development of teaching presentations and PADI systems,
Standards and Procedures to be more than helpful at the IE. Candidates complete
the program fully prepared not only for the Instructor Evaluation, but for
success as PADI Open Water Instructors.
